Primark P.S. LOVE Collection

As I said in one of my very first posts, Primarks beauty collection is forever growing- from its' lipsticks, false nails to falsies and hair products. On my visit there, I was curious to try some other products after being so impressed with their nail polishes.

8 Shade Metallic Eyeshadow Palette (With Flash)

8 Shade Metallic Eyeshadow Palette (Without Flash)

For £2.50, I do think these are quite impressive colours, (although they weren't as pigmented as they appear in these pictures -  I had to go over the swatches a few times to bring the colour out). I am impressed with the metallic-ness of them though (is that even a word?!) When I swatched them on my skin, they did apply better (not MUCH better) but I am quite fond of the pearly white shadow.

All eight shadows felt chalky and will definitely need more than one application to get a decent colour out. I also tried a wet brush which surprisingly didn't help much either. It just seemed to wash away the colour- leaving a somewhat colourless shiny swatch.

On the positive side, the colours blend well and the palette itself is quite useful due to the large mirror and the two double-ended sponge applicators.

These lipsticks were £1/£1.50 and for the price, the packaging  and overall sturdiness has a much nicer quality than many other lippies I've come across around the same price.

The red in the middle is my favourite. It's matte and slightly creamy. What I mean is that it doesn't glide on like most lipsticks do but it's not dry either. It's super pigmented and stays on for a good amount of time.

I think this makeup is great if you're on a budget where a little money will take you a long way. However, I personally wouldn't buy the eyeshadows again. Out of the lipsticks, the red seemed to have a nicer quality due to the pigmentation and texture, which I am not sure why. In addition to a better quality and packaging, the red lipstick was the only one which didn't have an odd smell... and how ironic that the brown one is a bit pongy! *cries!!*

Another purchase that hasn't failed to impress me is Primarks' nail polishes.

See review and swatches for some of their nail polish collection here.

A thumbs up for the lipsticks but sadly not for the eyeshadow.
