As a makeup junkie, it is fair to say I want it all! Sometimes wanting it all isn't so affordable though. Sometimes knowing winter is right around the corner makes me want to hold onto that sun-kissed look just for a little more longer.
I've wanted to try out some Benefit products for a while but for some reason, I just haven't and didn't know where to start. But having the best sister in the world who knows me oh so well, I have some wonderful Benefit goodies, including all this bronzy sun-kissed goodness.
This kit includes:
Eyeshadow duo: Creaseless cream "Bikini-tini" & powder "Thanks a latte"
"Hoola" bronzing powder with brush
"Watt's up" highlighter stick
"They're Real" Mascara
"Ultra plush hoola" Lip gloss
(All travel size)
The box may be small, but Benefit have definitely squeezed enough inside; including a mirror and a 'tips and tricks' book which explains how to 'get your goodness on with the most believable bronze'.
The tips and tricks book is in fact very helpful as it has a pictured tutorial showing us how to use the product and how to create a simple bronzed look.
You can pretty much use your fingers as tools if you're on - the - go to create a look with this kit. Having this brush for the Hoola Bronzer though is something I really appreciate as many kits lack the tools or a small place to store them. Along with this, the brush itself is of good quality and works prefect for its partnered product.
I'm still getting the hang of using this. I find it applies very smoothly but when applying the stick directly on my face (even with a light hand), it looks like I've taken a shiny crayon across my cheekbones to say "HERE THEY ARE EVERYONE".
This blends out beautifully so is stress-free for beginners and those of you (like me!) who are slightly intimidated by using your fingers as tools.
I do love this and want to love it even more but I find that once I blend the product out, I don't seem to (as said by the one and only Rihanna) shine bright like a diamond. I find the product disappears but leaves an oily residue on my already oily skin. Even after taking photographs with a flash, the highlighter was no where to be seen.
I think this would look better as a base for an eyelid or a brow highlight. Nevertheless, I WILL master Watt's Up!
When I opened this tube I thought 'oh great!'. I tend to really dislike glosses in tubes like this as I find they come out extremely thick and sticky. Having said that, I'm really liking this Hoola Ultra Plush Gloss.
It's nice on the lips as it feels as if it almost sinks in and is very moisturising. This sheer gloss is great for any skin tone and stays on the lips gloopy-free and doesn't leave you feeling as if you've smothered half a tub of Vaseline onto your lips!
They're real alright!
If there's one full sized thing I will purchase from this kit...well I'm guessing you've realised what. This mascara is giving me life right now! I absolutely love!
The spikes on this brush go to the very top and around which does look a little lethal to me as it looks like a spiked hammer...
but this is the best weapon Benefit have created as it gives you a full coverage look and gets even the tiny lashes right on your inner corner. I feel the wand really grips onto every lash giving you a beautiful defined look that you can easily rock without an ounce of eyeliner!
They're Real would be so close to a 10/10 if it was jet black as I feel (along with a few friends) that it could be a little more on the darker side.
